David Nemir

David Nemir, Ph.D., Director of Engineering Development, has extensive academic and work experience in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering that has helped to hone Tecma’s competitive edge razor sharp. David’s wide technical knowledge and prolific innovation have garnered him 8 utility patents, primarily in electrical safety technologies. David is adept at design, development, and production and will also facilitate a product through FDA, FCC and UL.

David was born in San Diego, the oldest of four children. He grew up in Austin where he graduated with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas. David and his wife, Cygne, have been married 26 years and have two daughters, both being Baylor Medical School and Pomona College alumni.

He joined General Electric as a development engineer for electric motors and controllers. While at GE, earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Gannon University and then a PhD in electrical engineering at Purdue. In his continuing pursuit of knowledge, David is completing his MBA at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he, in fact, taught and gained tenure in 1992.

David joined Tecma in 1999 after establishing X-L Electronics, designers and builders of custom testing equipment for the Maquiladora industry. At Tecma, he leads a team of four engineers with extensive experience in electronic design, 3D modeling, prototyping and production. David and his team assist our clients in the development of new products and processes and the refinement of established products.
