The Tecma Group's team of seasoned professionals frees its client companies' executives to focus their resources and energies, and invest their valuable time tending to core, value-added manufacturing functions and planning company strategy.

The efforts of every member of each of the Tecma Group of Companies’ Mexico operations team are directed at providing superior services that require country and NAFTA-specific expertise. Team members’ work in areas such as: human resources, payroll and benefits management, logistics and transportation and import-export services, facilities management and MRO procurement, as well as industrial cafeteria, health and safety compliance and information technology services in a Mexico manufacturing environment, negate the necessity of Tecma client companies to use their resources to acquire and retain the skill sets and duplicate the significant investment that is required to perform these key functions in Mexico. Hence,  the Tecma Group and the companies operating under its Mexico Shelter Manufacturing Partnership (MSMP) benefit from a somewhat symbiotic business and economic relationship that capitalizes on the strengths of each other’s comparative advantages. In the delivery of its Mexico shelter service Tecma’s mission is to strive to “create an environment in which our clients and employees never want to leave us.”

Operations Management

The Tecma Group of Companies’ Operations Management Team oversees the delivery of shelter services in Mexico to its manufacturing company clientele. The group is responsible to see that Tecma client needs are met in the areas of human resources management, import and export operations, customs and logistics management, payroll and finance, information technology, facilities management, environmental and health and safety compliance, as well is in issues that have to do with information technology. This group of experienced professionals makes certain that companies are set free to focus on their primary manufacturing missions in Mexico.

Finance and Accounting

The professionals that are are part of the finance and accounting department are responsible for preparing and delivering accurate and on-time payroll services to the Tecma Group of Companies’ manufacturing client base.  In addiction to this primordially important function, the group also ensures that Mexican worker benefits are tracked and paid correctly by interfacing with applicable government agencies. Tecma’s finance and accounting professionals adhere strictly to Mexican Accounting Standards (MAS), and maintain books in accordance with both MAS and U.S. General Accounting Principles.

Human Resources

The Tecma Group’s human resources team is led by Mr. Abraham Medina, and consists of a group of dedicated professionals that are adept in performing the functions that are required to build and maintain a manufacturing workforce in the Mexican maquiladora industry. Tecma’s HR specialists recruit, screen and reference check potential employees, conduct worker orientations, keep and record worker information and performance history, as well as intervene in situations requiring conflict resolutions, when required.  Tecma Human Resource professionals guide manufacturing company clients in setting wage rates, and provide assistance and direction in dealings with workers’ unions.

Facilities Management and Health and Safety Compliance

The Tecma Group of Companies professionals that labor the areas of facilities management and health and safety compliance issues approach their tasks and duties with a commitment to excellence in customer service.  The group is led by Mr. Jorge Zamarripa, and works diligently to maintain Tecma Group client company workspaces in a manner that not only promotes the well-being and safety of direct labor workers and those that manage them, but also for the purpose of ensuring greater levels of manufacturing productivity.

Industrial Cafeteria

A maquiladora industry workforce, much the same as a victorious army, derives its vitality from a wholesome, healthy and safe diet.  The quality of the industrial catering services provided by the Tecma Group of Companies, not only to its own employees, but also to those of outside companies to which services are also provided, has been recognized by the Mexican government on a national level.  The Tecma Group’s industrial cafeteria staff has been recognized with Mexico’s “Distintivo H” award on several occasions.  This award, given by Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism, recognizes establishments that prepare and serve quality food in clean and hygienic environments.

In-House Customs Brokerage

The Tecma Group of Companies employs three licensed Mexican customs brokers on a full-time basis.  Although recent Customs reforms have given Mexican exporters the option of using licensed Mexican customs brokers, or not, for many international trade transactions, most exporters have opted to continue to use licensed personnel. Using licensed Mexican customs brokers is an effective way of mitigating some of the legal compliance-related risk inherent to conducting transborder business. Despite changes brought on by Customs reform, licensed customs brokers remain the preferred means by which manufacturers in Mexico transact their international business in the NAFTA environment.

Import - Export

The Tecma Group of Companies import-export team is led by Marisela Molina.  The department staff processes all documents required by the Mexican government to transit goods into the country, as well as ensures that Tecma client companies take full advantage of preferential treatment afforded to them by programs such as the NAFTA, the IMMEX and Prosec. Tecma’s experienced professionals proactively seek to reduce or eliminate some or all tariffs and duties that client company manufacturers may be potentially be subject to.  In addition, to processing the documents required to conduct cross-border commerce, the Tecma import-export team maintains relationships with Mexican trade regulatory agencies on behalf of company clients.

Information Technology

Tecma’s information technology team approaches both its external and internal clientele from a perspective of impeccable customer service.  In addition to setting up clients’ phone systems, and providing assistance in installing software and hardware, IT staff assists client companies to access internet service thorugh one of three local suppliers. Tecma’s IT team also assists companies in researching and procuring technology solutions that meet their specific sets of needs, and provides ongoing technical assistance through a helpdesk system that has been establish to respond to client requests for service in a timely and efficient manner.
